  “What are you doing, baby?” Barclay squatted down next to her.

  “Umm…” She looked up at him sheepishly.

  “You were in your head again, weren’t you?”

  “Yes,” she replied and took his offered hand, leaning on him to rise to her feet. “I can’t help it. There is so much I don’t know.”

  “You don’t have to learn everything at once, Shannon. In fact you don’t even have to remember any of it. The data chip will be right there in your head for the rest of your life. You can just pull up information whenever you want.”

  “I like learning.”

  “I know you do, baby. But you can’t get lost in your head all the time. You should always be aware of your surroundings.”

  “Why? You, Darby, and Gilmore will keep me safe, and if I ever find myself in trouble, all I have to do is push my emotions at you.”

  “That may be so, but we worry about you, Shannon. You have been pushing yourself too much. You should be resting more. You look tired.”

  “Well, I suppose that’s to be expected.” She tried to hold back the yawn creeping up but couldn’t contain it.

  “That’s it,” Barclay growled. “You are going to have a nap.”

  “Will you stay with me? I like being cuddled while I sleep.”

  “I would like nothing better.” Barclay swept her up into his arms and carried her toward their home.

  “Put me down. You’re going to hurt yourself. God, I must weigh nearly as much as the dwelling.”

  Barclay smirked but didn’t laugh. She had to give him credit for not giving in to his humor. Her emotions were all over the place, and it didn’t take much for her to burst into tears these days.

  “You were in the gardens again, weren’t you, Shannon?” Darby frowned at her dirty hands when Barclay carried her into their room.

  “Uh, maybe.” She smiled.

  “I think it’s time you stopped working so much, sweetie. You need to rest more. There are dark smudges beneath your eyes.”

  “Maybe because I have to get up half a dozen times through the night to use the bathroom.”

  “Let me help.” Gilmore walked in as Barclay lowered her feet to the floor, and then her men began to undress her. She leaned back against Gilmore, ready to admit that just maybe her men were right. It was getting so hard for her to move around and totally impossible for her to get up from a kneeling position by herself. Luckily for her, there were young boys and older women around to give her a helping hand.

  After her men had bathed her and dried her off, Darby carried her into their bedroom and laid her on the bed. He slid in beside her and Barclay got into bed behind her. Gilmore sat at the bottom and began to massage her swollen feet. She groaned and sighed, thankful for such loving, caring men. Drifting on a cloud of love and comfort as her babies kicked and played inside her womb, she snuggled against Darby while Barclay cuddled her from behind.

  “Shit!” Darby said.

  “What?” Barclay asked.

  “I can’t believe our children are so active. It’s a wonder Shannon ever gets any sleep. One of them just kicked me in the side. I’m really worried about the birthing.” Darby sighed. “She’s such a little thing and we are all so damn big.”

  Even though Shannon was dozing, she heard everything her men discussed. One of her babies kicked her bladder again, but she held still, wanting to hear her men’s conversation.

  “Healer Marrick is checking her every week now. He says Shannon is very healthy.”

  “I know. She’s just so damn fragile compared to us,” Barclay stated.

  Shannon gave a mental snort. She wasn’t anything of the sort.

  “Healer Marrick said he would take her pains away if he thought it was too much for her.”

  “She’s so stubborn,” Gilmore whispered. “She told Healer Marrick she wants to experience every single pain.”

  “Well, we’ll just have to watch over her and make sure she does as she’s told if it becomes too much.”

  That’s what you think, Shannon thought. Just as she completed that thought, a pain gripped her body. It started at her back and travelled around to her belly.

  “Fuck, what was that?” Barclay groaned.

  Oh, this was going to be fun. Shannon had forgotten that her men could feel what she did. Maybe she should put them out of her misery and let Marrick relieve her pain. She’d already asked him all the appropriate questions, and even though she wanted to have a natural birth, if the pain became too much she would ask him to work his magic, since it wouldn’t affect her triplets in the least.

  Another pain gripped her and she gasped because this one was much stronger. Her men moaned and then the mattress dipped.

  “I think Shannon is in labor,” Gilmore panted. “I will go and get the healer.”

  “I think our little bond mate has been in labor all day. My back has been aching since early this morning.” Barclay sighed.

  Shannon couldn’t contain her giggle, because Barclay was right. She’d been having slight pains on and off all day. It looked like she was about to get to the serious stuff.

  “I should spank your ass, sweetie.” Darby helped her to a more upright position and plumped the pillows behind her before easing her back. “I thought I hurt it training with Stefan.”

  She bent over and clutched her belly as another pain ripped through her.

  “Are you okay, baby?” Barclay asked.

  Shannon could see the sweat beaded on his brow and gave him a smile. “I’m fine. How are you three?”

  Gilmore had just gotten back with Healer Marrick as another pain washed over her. He bent over and held his stomach.

  “We’re good,” her men answered.

  Shannon’s laugh turned to a gasp when another pain hit.

  “It looks like you will be having those triplets very soon, Shannon,” Marrick said with a wicked grin.

  Over the next two hours Shannon endured pains until she felt the urge to push. She’d given up on any help from her men. They were all on the floor writhing in agony. “Can’t you do something to take their pain away?”

  “They’re fine, Shannon. Let’s just concentrate on you.”

  Shannon gave birth to three beautiful girls. One had deep-blue eyes, the second green, and the last hazel, and they all had dark-red hair. Her men were now sitting on the edge of the bed, each cuddling one of their daughters.

  Her men had tears in their eyes as they stared at their daughters. Barclay lifted his gaze to look at her and then kissed her temple. “I will never think of you as fragile again. You are stronger than the largest warrior. I love you, baby. Thank you for such a cherished gift.”

  Shannon had tears running down her face as her men moved closer and kissed her. She touched each of her daughters and let her men’s feelings wash over her through their bonding link. The love she could feel for her and their daughters was more precious than all the gold in the universe.
